At the Neurosurgical Outpatient Clinic we diagnose surgical conditions of the central nervous system and spine and plan the management and surgery of patients with neurosurgical conditions. We also follow up patients who have undergone neurosurgical procedures.

We provide high-quality, efficacious treatment of surgical diseases of the central nervous system, skull and skeleton. Patients are referred to the ward from Emergency Services. Patients may also be summoned to the ward.

We treat adults with oncological diseases apart from those patients with haematological, lung or gynaecological cancer, who are treated in their own respective wards.

Our unit provides operating theatre services around the clock every day of the year for many specialties, including but not limited to abdominal-, cardiothoracic-, and neurosurgery.

We help the patient and his/her next of kin to adjust to the new life situation caused by a stoma. The patient can come to the ostomy ward to discuss with a trained ostomy nurse or a person responsible of ostomy.

Patients with an incurable, progressive disease are treated by the Palliative Centre. The goal of palliative treatment is good management of the patient’s symptoms, to secure an optimal quality of life and to support the patient’s family and friends.
