Organisation and operations of the Centre of Excellence in Neuromodulation Therapies
The Turku University Hospital Centre of Excellence in Neuromodulation Therapies implements, coordinates and develops neuromodulation operations and scientific research in Southwest Finland in several fields of specialised medical care.
Brain tumours
Brain tumours may be malignant or benign. The symptoms caused by tumours vary depending on which part of the central nervous system the tumour is located in. The first symptom can be e.g. epileptic seizure, paralysis or any other neurological symptom.
Stroke unit
The patients at the Stroke unit have acute changes in the blood circulation of their brain and require close follow-up and management. The patients of the Stroke unit are referred to us from Emergency services.
Paediatric and Adolescent Ward
We treat children and young people in need of specialised health care inpatient care, who are ill with infectious diseases, other paediatric diseases or paediatric neurological diseases.
Neurocenter Outpatient Clinic, Loimaa
We are responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with neurological conditions and brain injuries involving persons over the age of 16 who live in the Loimaa area.
Neurocenter Outpatient Clinic, Salo
We are responsible for the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with neurological conditions and brain injuries involving persons over the age of 16 who live in the Salo area.
