We treat children and young people in need of specialised health care inpatient care, who are ill with infectious diseases, other paediatric diseases or paediatric neurological diseases.
Our ward operates round the clock. Patients come directly to our ward from the emergency department or with a doctor's referral.
Common illnesses being treated in our ward include respiratory tract infections and other acute infectious diseases, long-term paediatric illnesses such as diabetes, as well as psychosomatic and neurological illnesses. A child may also be in our ward for the purpose of monitoring and examining various symptoms. In addition, our ward provides care for children and adolescents in need of acute rehabilitation.
The treatment is provided by a specialist in paediatrics or paediatric neurology. The children are cared for by medical nurses and child nurses/practical nurses, and in addition a physiotherapist, speech therapist, occupational therapist, nutritionist, psychiatric nurse, social worker and rehabilitation counsellor are also involved in the treatment if necessary. Our operational practices are multi-disciplinary and family-oriented.
To improve and develop our work, we welcome feedback on care.
We are part of the Tyks Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.
