Neurocenter Outpatient Clinic, U-hospital We are a part of the Neurocenter of the Turku University Hospital and we network with the other outpatient clinics of the Neurocenter in our wellbeing services county. We manage typical neurological chronic conditions like epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, memory disorders, multiple sclerosis (MS), disorders of the blood circulation of the brain and follow-up of brain injuries. Some common procedures are memory testing, instructing on drug treatment and provision of guidance and counselling. Patients are admitted to us by referral from a physician. For students You will be actively involved as one of the team members at out outpatient clinic. Each team member is responsible for providing you guidance. You will learn about nursing of neurological patients by participating in treatment planning, by providing the treatment and by guiding patients. You will become familiar with how the outpatient clinic operates to the extent of your own interest and the duration of your training period. You will be able to participate in various treatment and examination procedures with the consent of the patients and due consideration of professional confidentiality and protection of the patient’s privacy.
