Patient rights
Everyone living in Finland has the right to receive the treatment required by their state of health within the available resources. The patient also has other statutory rights, such as the right to good care and treatment, and access to information about health and care.
Tyks Main hospital's area
There are four Tyks hospitals in the area of the Main hospital, as well as several other buildings with patient reception and treatment facilities.
Operation Unit, T-hospital
Our unit provides operating theatre services around the clock every day of the year for many specialties, including but not limited to abdominal-, cardiothoracic-, and neurosurgery.
Gynaecological inpatient ward
The gynaecological inpatient ward treats patients who require specialized gynaecological care.
Paediatric and Adolescent Ward
We treat children and young people in need of specialised health care inpatient care, who are ill with infectious diseases, other paediatric diseases or paediatric neurological diseases.
Examinations and treatment at Emergency services
The patients attending Emergency services are treated in order of urgency. Thus, a patient who has arrived after you may be called on or treated before you.
Science and research in the Centre of Excellence in Neuromodulation Therapies
Method development at the Centre of Excellence in Neuromodulation Therapies is supported by active scientific research collaboration between all the participating units of Turku University Hospital and the University of Turku.
Clinical Neurophysiology
We examine the electrical activity of the brain, sensory systems, nerves and muscles, as well as sleep and alertness. We monitor the nervous system and musculature during surgery and intensive care, and perform non-invasive neuromodulation treatments.
