Paediatric and Adolescent Surgery Ward and Day Surgery
The Paediatric and adolescent surgery department and the Day surgery department treat all children and adolescents who come for surgery in different surgical specialties.
Labour ward
All babies born in Southwest Finland are delivered at our department.
Emergency care for children and adolescents
In the Paediatric and Adolescent Emergency Department, we look after the emergency care of those under 16 years of age round the clock.
Division of Gynaecology and Paediatrics
Children with lymphoma
Lymphomas are the third most common form of cancer among children. There are annually about 15 new cases of paediatric lymphoma in Finland; 2–5 are annually treated in Tyks.
Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
We treat children and adolescents aged 0-16 years who require continuous intensive care or intensive monitoring.
Hematological treatments
Hematology is the medical discipline that studies and treats illnesses of the blood. The suspicion of a possible blood illness arises often when there are changes in the blood counts in laboratory testing of a blood sample.
