We are responsible for the following related to hematological diseases: treatment evaluation, planning and execution consultations advice guidance and supervision follow-up planning and execution of follow-up treatment The services of physicians and nurses are available at the outpatient hematology clinic. Drug treatments may be administered. Corresponding hematology outpatient clinics operate also at Salo, Loimaa and Mäntymäki hospitals, providing also drug treatments. Patients are referred to us by physicians’ referrals from other hospitals, health care centres and private practitioners. We wish that your visit at our outpatient clinic will be smooth and easy. Here we have collected some information that might be helpful when you prepare for your visit to the outpatient hematology clinic or ward. Facilities The hematology outpatient clinic operates in the entry level of the T-Hospital, 2nd floor, B Wing. Visit to the hematology outpatient clinic You will receive by phone or by letter an invitation to attend at the outpatient clinic. The invitation will include information on when exactly your visit will take place, on what possible laboratory or imaging studies will be performed before your visit and on how you should prepare yourself for these examinations and for the visit. You can change or cancel your appointment by calling the department secretary at the times mentioned in the invitation letter. Please take along with you a list of the medicines you are taking, the results of imaging studies and laboratory tests and medical statements related to your current illness. Please inform the department secretary when you arrive at the outpatient hematology clinic. During your visit When you visit the hematology outpatient clinic, you will meet a physician and a nurse. They will inform you about your illness. Please do ask them if anything is not clear to you. If you have wishes regarding the treatment being planned, please tell them. You may bring a person along with you to the clinic to support you at your visit. And once again – don’t forget to bring with you all the necessary information about the medicines you are taking. Telephone service Hematology outpatient clinic uses a call-back system. In the call-back system, select: (one) in issues related to an appointment, transfer or cancellation or prescription renewals (two) if you need help of a nurse (three) if your matter is urgent. We call you back on weekdays 8 am to 9 am and 1 pm to 2 pm. Contacts You may contact the outpatient clinic whenever you need. The department secretaries manage bookings and prescription renewals. You may call the nurses if you have questions about your illness or about how it is treated. Outside working hours, in urgent matters, you may contact the hematology ward or the Emergency Medical Services. Email Email address: hematologian.poliklinikka(a)tyks.fi, is not a secured email. Client fees You will be invoiced for visits to the outpatient clinic. See client fees. The Kaiku Health clinic supports you between hospital visits The hematology outpatient clinic at Tyks employs the Kaiku Health clinics services for follow-up and treatment support for patients with multiple myeloma. The Kaiku Health system allows us to follow up how our patients are doing, how their quality of life is and how their symptoms develop. We do this in real time. This web service allows you to inform securely the treatment team in real time on how you are doing. You may also ask about non-urgent matters that you are concerned about – and you can do this whenever it suits yourself best. We reply to messages within two working days. Kaiku is easy to use! This is how you register as a user of the Kaiku Health service: Agree with the nurse that you will start using Kaiku in connection with your next visit or over the telephone The nurse will send you an invitation by email to connect with Kaiku Follow the instructions in the email and create your own username. After registration, Kaiku Health is available to you on any computer, tablet or mobile device with internet access. The service if free of charge.
