Psychosis and Bipolar Outpatient Clinic welcomes primarily clients aged 18–69 years who come from Turku. Among the indications for admissions are psychotic symptoms or psychosis.
You need a doctor's referral to be admitted. During treatment we follow up the patient's mental and physical condition and examine his/her life situation. During therapy discussions we plan and agree together with the patient on suitable individual therapy methods. Family and close-of-kin are welcome to participate in planning and carrying out of the therapy. The patient is treated by a multiprofessional working group, which includes physicians, nursing staff, a psychologist, a social worker, an occupational therapist and a physiotherapist.
The therapy methods available to the working group are: working with a personal nurse, medicines, activities on your own, with the family and in a group to improve function and life control, home visits and network meetings. As dictated by the patient's needs, therapy may also require social services, psychological testing, ergotherapy (occupational therapy) or psychophysical physiotherapy. We also provide service guidance and support plans for training, education and occupation. When needed, we collaborate with actors in primary care, student and occupational health care, social administration and the third sector.
We develop our work continuously aiming at constant improvement of the quality of care. You are free to give us feedback on how you perceive the treatment we have provided.
