Intensified outpatient care for Affective disorders

We participate in the planning of patient care in cooperation with various different teams. Intensified outpatient care operates between outpatient care and inpatient care. One objective is to prevent the need for inpatient care.

An outpatient care worker will contact intensified outpatient care on behalf of the patient. The emergency services department may also direct patients to intensified outpatient care if their condition requires a rapid response, but the criteria for inpatient care are not met. A patient may be referred from a ward to intensified outpatient care to ensure a smooth discharge from the ward. Intensified outpatient appointments may take place in the outpatient clinic premises, remotely or in the form of home visits.
