The Tyks Cancer Centre arranges cancer treatment and research in Southwest Finland. Our responsibility areas are prevention, diagnostics, treatment, rehabilitation, advanced scientific research and education in the field of cancer on the level of specialized medical care.

Paediatric and Adolescent Ward
We treat children and young people in need of specialised health care inpatient care, who are ill with infectious diseases, other paediatric diseases or paediatric neurological diseases.
Cancer
Cancer is a general term for a group of diseases characterized by uncontrolled cell division and growth. Cancers may be grouped by their location and growth pattern. Cancer in children differs from those in adults because of their biological background is often different. This also explains why there are clear differences in the occurrence of cancers in children and adults.
