The Centre of Excellence in Infections and Microbes provides high-quality diagnostics and treatment of patients with infections. Our mission is to predict epidemics and target preventative measures efficiently.

The operations of the Centre of Excellence in Infections and Microbes includes, for example, laboratory and high security laboratory operations, contingency planning and scientific research.

Children and adolescents

We serve children and adolescents under 16 years old in the specialties of paediatric medicine, paediatric surgery and paediatric neurology. In addition we have the Tyks unit for rare diseases. The unit aims at improving the management of paediatric and adult patients with rare diseases. We admit children from all around Finland by a doctor's referral.
