Paediatric tumours
The most common tumours among children are different forms of haematological tumours, e.g., leukaemia. Of the tissue tumours, the most common ones are tumours of the brain, kidney, adrenal glands and extremities.

Children and adolescents
We serve children and adolescents under 16 years old in the specialties of paediatric medicine, paediatric surgery and paediatric neurology. In addition we have the Tyks unit for rare diseases. The unit aims at improving the management of paediatric and adult patients with rare diseases.
We admit children from all around Finland by a doctor's referral.

Hematological treatments
Hematology is the medical discipline that studies and treats illnesses of the blood. The suspicion of a possible blood illness arises often when there are changes in the blood counts in laboratory testing of a blood sample.

Children with lymphoma
Lymphomas are the third most common form of cancer among children. There are annually about 15 new cases of paediatric lymphoma in Finland; 2–5 are annually treated in Tyks.
