Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

We take care of preterm infants, and term newborns who need intensive care for a variety of medical or surgical reasons. Our babies’ length of stay varies from a few days to several months.

Saske

Saske is a laboratory specialized in newborn screening for rare inborn diseases. Saske analyses the screening blood samples of all newborn babies in Finland. Newborn screening helps prevent the harm of treatable congenital diseases.

Brain Injury Centre

Tyks Brain Injury Centre is a unit of excellence. Brain injury patients are treated by several different units of Tyks, such as emergency care, emergency department, intensive care unit, neurosurgery ward, rehabilitation ward and traumatic brain injury outpatient clinic. The Brain Injury Center's operations consist of coordinating the entire above-mentioned treatment path for an accidental brain injury patient, training undergraduate and postgraduate students, and scientific research. Brain Injury Centre is a part of Tyks Neurocenter.

Acute Geriatric Infectious Diseases Ward

In the Infectious Diseases Ward, we treat geriatric infectious patients in particular.
